Artist Talk with Brandy Godsil

Join us at Freeweaver Studio for an intimate artist talk with textile artist and educator Brandy Godsil.
Brandy’s practice combines weaving, natural dyeing, eco-printing, felting, embroidery and tailoring. Inspired by nature, personal mythology and cultural histories, she creates experimental textiles and bespoke garments rooted in sustainable practice.
She will discuss her creative journey, international textile residencies and her work with Intertwine Arts, a non-profit organisation providing weaving opportunities for people with disabilities.

Brandy Godsil is a textile artist and educator with over 15 years’ experience in textiles and fashion. Her practice combines weaving, natural dyeing, eco-printing, felting, embroidery and tailoring to create experimental textiles and bespoke garments inspired by nature, personal mythology and cultural histories.
She holds a BFA in Fiber Art and Experimental Fashion Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art and has studied at Central Saint Martins and Parsons School of Design. Her international experience includes textile residencies in Mexico and Iceland. She is currently completing a master’s degree in Art and Design Management and Creative Organisations at LUM University in Milan.
Brandy is also co-founder, advisor and teaching artist at Intertwine Arts, a non-profit organisation providing weaving opportunities for people with disabilities.
