Join Quilla Constance for a talk and tour of her solo exhibition Activating Intersections featuring her latest carnivalesque costume-installation 'The Grenadiers: New regiment 2026' eight large-scale oil paintings and a series of video works. QC’s paintings for this exhibition employ a range of artistic techniques such as realism, surrealism and abstraction, and situate black female subjects within opulent interiors of Buckingham Palace and other stately homes. Scenes from the paintings also include objects and logos that merge and clash with the surroundings, creating unusual, humorous, and empowering imagery as a form of social activism.
