Marketing: Artist Statements, CVs & WebsitesPresented by Dr. Bailey Moorhead, Assistant Professor of English at the Kentucky College of Art and Design, this workshop focuses on the written and online materials artists use to communicate their work and professional experience.
Artist statements, CVs, and websites are important tools for presenting your practice to galleries, curators, organizations, grant panels, and potential collaborators. This session will offer practical guidance for developing clear, effective materials that communicate who you are as an artist and provide context for your work.
Designed for artists at every career level, the workshop will help participants consider how their written materials and online presence work together to create a cohesive professional identity.
This workshop is part of Louisville Visual Art’s Artist Resource Series, presented in partnership with the Great Meadows Foundation.
About the Artist Resource Series
Louisville Visual Art (LVA) is proud to announce the return of the Artist Resource Series! Originally launched online during the COVID-19 pandemic to connect local creators with sector experts, this newly reimagined series brings artists together in person to build skills, share knowledge, and foster community.
To shape this relaunch, we gathered feedback from local creators about the real-world challenges they face in today’s evolving legal, economic, and technological landscape—including emerging topics like AI. The message was clear: artists want practical guidance on the business side of art. Built directly on this community input, the series equips artists at every career level with essential tools to build sustainable, long-term practices.
