Calling all manga lovers!
Join us for a fun, creative Manga Art Workshop designed especially for teens aged 8+. This friendly and welcoming session is perfect for both beginners and young artists who already love drawing anime and manga characters.
What to Expect
- Learn what manga is and how it developed in Japan
- Discover famous manga authors and iconic series
- Fun facts: manga is read by hundreds of millions of people worldwide and is one of the most popular art and storytelling forms today
- Step-by-step guidance on creating your own manga character
- Practice facial expressions, hairstyles, and poses
- Draw using paper, pencils, and markers
- Relaxed, supportive atmosphere where creativity is encouraged
Participants will create their own original manga character and take their artwork home.
About the Series
This workshop is part of a Sunday art class series for teens at the Fort York TPL Branch, held weekly at 12:30 pm. Upcoming themes include:
