Kristi Kongi: Chromatic Drift
The exhibition is the first solo exhibition by an Estonian woman artist in Kumu’s great exhibition hall, featuring new works created specifically for this event. The exhibition evokes a holistic sensory and spatial experience centred on colour, a hallmark of Kristi Kongi’s oeuvre. Extending beyond the canvas, colours and motifs have spilled onto the floor, walls, windows and the outdoor space.

no beginning, no end: Decolonial Gestures in Sámi Worldbuilding
This international exhibition examines the complex journey being taken by the Sámi people as they strive for Indigenous justice and self-determination through decolonial worldbuilding. The politicization of Sámi art that began in the 1960s and 1970s, developing in parallel with the Sámi self-determination movement, has received widespread attention over the last decade.

Who Is Afraid of Motherhood?
The starting point of this exhibition is the conviction that, while motherhood is a deeply personal experience, it is always influenced by the fact that it is also an institution that has been largely shaped by a world operating on unequal terms. At the heart of the exhibition is the tension between personal and social life, and the question of how motherhood might serve as a means to envision and create a more caring society.

Landscapes of Identity: Estonian Art 1700–1945
The permanent exhibition tells the story of Estonian art as it evolved through Estonia’s multi-ethnic history, growing into a heritage that blends Estonian, Baltic German and Russian traditions. The focus is on the role of art in society and in shaping the identities of diverse communities.

Conflicts and Adaptations. Estonian Art of the Soviet Era (1940–1991)
The permanent exhibition represents one possible approach to the Estonian art of the second half of the 20th century, when it was characterised mainly by conflicts with and adaptations to the new political order established after World War II.
