Give your unused art supplies a new life, and find something new to inspire your own work at the Art Supply Swap! This is for aspiring and veteran artists, makers, and creative types of all kinds. Bring along craft and art supplies, tools, and materials you no longer need and trade them for something you can put to good use. Swap your pens for paste, your brayer for brushes, or your Cray-Pas for canvas.Just trying to declutter? You're welcome to donate supplies for the swap from October 1 to 16. We'll have a collection box by the front desk!
Not sure what to bring? Try clean, new or gently used craft supplies donations of:
-Fabric and sewing supplies: fat quarters, thread, trim/binding, zippers, buttons, quilting/sewing, machines
-Fiber craft and needlework supplies: yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks, stitch counters, thread, patterns, kits, counted cross stitch, embroidery supplies, hoops, floss
-Drawing and painting supplies: inks, pencils, paints, brushes (clean), graphite, pastels, erasers, chalks, charcoals, markers, canvas, watercolor paper, drawing paper, scratch boards, panels, sketchbooks, construction paper, newsprint
Papercraft supplies: scrapbooking, card-making, rubber stamps, usable ink pads, stencils
-General tools and supplies: scissors, glue guns, soldering irons, craft knives, hole punches, easels, photo equipment, pottery tools, rulers, glue, tape, butcher paper, sandpaper, cotton swabs, toothpicks, popsicle sticks, googly eyes, embossing tools/heat tools, foam, felt, craft supply storage containers
-Books and kits: art/craft instruction books and magazines, patterns, store bought crafting kits
-Supplies for hobbies like clay-making, floral arranging, leatherwork, bookmaking, beading, jewelry-making, framing, shadow box-making
PLEASE BE SURE TO:
-pack sharps in a labeled, hard-sided container
-bring items in containers we can keep
-organize your items with like items
THINGS TO LEAVE AT HOME:
-items that are dirty or not sanitary (for example, items that are moldy, dirty, smelly, smoke-damaged, insect-damaged, ETC.)
-items that are broken or cannot be used immediately/without rehabilitation (no sewing machines on the fritz)
-sheets, drapes, fabric samples
-fabric with pins (ouch!)
-anything that held food, medication, or hazardous material
