About this Event
Anastasia Krylova is an artist whose work explores themes of connection, transformation, and possibility through vibrant, nature-inspired landscapes, abstract forms, and narrative, symbolic figurative work. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, travel, memory, and the human experience, she creates paintings that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and imagine new ways of seeing themselves and their surroundings.
Central to her practice is the concept of the portal, both as a visual motif and a metaphor for transition, healing, and growth. Her paintings depict imagined landscapes that exist somewhere between memory and dream, and her figurative pieces use symbolism and storytelling to explore similar thresholds of change.
Born in Russia and raised in the United States, Anastasia's artistic perspective has been shaped by moving between cultures, studying abroad in France, and time spent in places around the world. These experiences have fostered a deep appreciation for cultural exchange, interconnectedness, and the universal search for meaning and belonging.
Based in New Jersey, Anastasia is also an educator and the founder of Portal Paint, a series of workshops that combine mindfulness, movement, and intuitive painting to cultivate creativity and self-expression. Through both her artwork and community-based programming, she seeks to create opportunities for reflection, connection, and transformation.
Her work has been exhibited at the Biggs Museum of American Art and in galleries and community art spaces throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
