In this mindfulness practice on Halloween, we’ll compassionately embrace our whole selves, flaws and all. Sitting kindly with ourselves may help us be even more receptive to the docent-led art experience that follows. Facilitator: Carol Lewis is a clinical psychologist who was previously a faculty member in the University of Florida Department of Psychiatry. She continues to work with the University of Florida’s Mobile Outreach Clinic and developed the Community Wellbeing Mentor program. Carol uses focused breathing and mindfulness extensively in her clinical work and in her personal practice.
This series of guided meditations is inspired by art in the Harn collections and led by expert facilitators with years of experience. Take a break from your regular schedule to slow down, experience stillness, and re-charge. Forty-five minutes of guided meditation is followed by an art spotlight tour. You may bring your own yoga mat or use a Harn yoga mat and/or cushion to engage in practice. No registration required. Space is limited. Admission is free.
