About this Event
Join Us for the Art Latornell Legacy Dinner!
The Art Latornell Endowment Committee invites colleagues, friends, students, practitioners, and members of Ontario’s conservation community to gather for a special dinner celebrating the enduring legacy of Art Latornell and his remarkable contribution to conservation, environmental stewardship, and professional collaboration in Ontario.
Taking place in the Science Complex Waasamowin Atrium at the University of Guelph, the evening will provide an opportunity to reflect on Art Latornell’s commitment to bringing people together across disciplines, organizations, and generations to advance thoughtful and practical approaches to environmental conservation. His legacy continues through the relationships, ideas, education, and leadership that he helped inspire, as well as through the ongoing work of the Art Latornell Endowment.
This gathering comes at an especially important moment for conservation in Ontario. As the province’s conservation community navigates significant changes in policy, governance, environmental priorities, and the relationships between communities and the landscapes they depend upon, there is value in coming together to reflect on where we have been and consider where we are going.
The dinner will celebrate both Art Latornell’s legacy and the people carrying that work forward today. It will be an evening of connection, conversation, and reflection—recognizing the importance of collaboration, mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and long-term stewardship.
Above all, the event will provide an opportunity to reconnect as a conservation community and reaffirm the values that have long shaped this work in Ontario, while looking ahead to the challenges and opportunities of the next generation.
