Alexandra Mueller is a PhD candidate at Leeds Beckett University. She creates art alongside her three children at home. Her practice-based research explores how motherhood influences her art-making. She has navigated family life and caregiving for her disabled husband and autistic son, finding creative ways to express herself within these limitations. How we have to steal time to continue to make art and the importance of collaboration. Challenging the solo artist myth. She makes work with her children.
Children of all ages are welcome, accompanied by an adult. Art materials are supplied and all attendees are invited to participated in art making during the session.
Art Lab is a peer group for artists and creative practitioners to discuss their work, concurrent ideas and critical thinking based in Halifax since January 2019. Originating at Dean Clough in 2019, moving online during the Covid lockdowns and developing through cooperative and collaborative working, Art Lab relaunched in September 2025 at Everybody Arts
