Join us for an unforgettable evening where dance, music, poetry, and visual art come together to celebrate creativity, collaboration, and community.Art in Motion Dance Gala is an inaugural fundraising event that pairs eight community dance couples with professional dance instructors, local poets, and visual artists to create a truly immersive artistic experience. Throughout eight weeks of preparation, each team embarks on a creative journey that culminates in an inspiring evening of live performance while raising support for the Rochester Arts Alliance and its mission to strengthen, sustain, and elevate arts and cultural opportunities throughout our community.

5:30 PM | Reception—Begin the evening with cocktails, light hors d'oeuvres, and live music while enjoying an exhibition of the featured visual artwork. Meet participating artists, dancers, and community supporters as silent auction bidding opens.
7:00 PM | Dance Competition—The competition begins as an original poem written for each featured dance team is presented before the dancers take the stage. Eight community couples will perform a variety of ballroom and social dance styles, each showcasing their own unique artistic journey. Audience members will vote throughout the evening by making charitable donations in support of their favorite teams.
8:20 PM| Intermission—Enjoy desserts, cocktails, and continued community celebration while voting for couples and artwork bidding is finalized.
8:40 PM | Finale—The evening concludes with a spoken word performance and two professional dance showcase pieces before the announcement of the winning team and silent auction winners.
Rochester Arts Alliance is partnering with Rochester Area Foundation, a Minnesota nonprofit corporation tax exempt under IRC Section 501(c)(3), for the 2026 Art in Motion event. Tax-deductible gifts or partially tax-deductible sponsorships and ticket purchases will be receipted accordingly.
