Join local artist Chris Newbry as he guides you through the techniques to create an acrylic landscape of your own! Each week you will complete a small landscape painting while emphasizing a different principle.
Week one: Layering & Depth
Week two: Color Theory
Week three: Light Source & Shadow
Week four: Contrast & Value
Known locally for his mini “Desktop Escapes” (landscape paintings on stones), Chris is a talented acrylic artist with a special knack for capturing exquisite landscapes in a small scale. The goal of the class is not simple to have students follow along and reproduce one of his paintings. Chris will teach students how landscapes are constructed and why the techniques work, giving you skills you can use to eventually create a painting of your own. Join for the art, and leave with a deeper understanding of techniques that will serve you in the future.
