About this Event
Art as Protest brings together music, poetry, performance, movement, and video for a free evening presented by Arts for Art as part of Fall of Freedom at The Clemente.
The program begins with Chile • New York • Gaza, a video by J. Maya Luz documenting the clay art of Jeff Schlanger. Celine Kang on guitar, Liam Summers on percussion, and Nathan Nakadegawa-Lee on woodwinds perform together, followed by Nadien & Binter, featuring James Paul Nadien on percussion and Hans Young Binter on keyboards. The evening closes with William Parker, multi-instrumentalist, and Patricia Nicholson on movement and text in Hope Cries for Justice.
The event is FREE and open to everyone. Come for the full program or drop in anytime between 6:30 and 9:00 PM.
