In June 2026 Fiona Laing completed a 75 mile round-island walk to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity, Coastguard Association and the Arran Community First responders, all organisations she has been involved in for a total of 75 years! Whilst doing so the littered state of Arran’s road verges became very apparent with rubbish ranging from red bull cans to 30 year old crisp packets and sandwich wrappers. Eco Savvy is supporting Fiona’s call for the Arran community to come together from the 15th to the 22nd of March 2027 to do an Arran Spring Clean!
In conjunction with and support from island environmental organisations we are calling the Arran community to action to help clean all road verges of litter! This isn’t just an ordinary litter pick, we will be collating data and running competitions for the types of litter found. It also wouldn’t be Arran without a raffle and everyone who takes on a section of road will be automatically entered.
