About this Event
This seminar is a part of a multi-year research project that investigates how NATO should develop and defend its northern flank in the future, in the face of an increasingly militaristic, authoritarian, and aggressive Russia. These changes coincide with significant burden shifts in NATO. The project is led by the Norwegian Defense University College with partners from the U.S., Canada, and Europe and utilizes war games and tabletop exercises (TTX) in tandem with peer-reviewed research. The Norwegian Ministry of Defense supports the project financially; it is now in its third year.
This seminar will present new findings from the project, as well as new knowledge from related academic activities. The seminar consists of two panels: The first session will present outcomes from the executed war games; the second will present research findings from a parallel project developing a scholarly anthology on the future relationship between NATO and Russia, with a special focus on the Arctic region and NATO's northern flank.
