You’ll gain an insight into what their roles really involve, as well as learning about their career journeys and the steps they took to get where they are today.
We are honoured to welcome:
- Dr Chandrika Sathasivam – Consultant Anaesthetist at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- Mr Kumaran Thiruppathy – Leading Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon, based in Reading and London
Chandrika and Kumaran will also share their advice on pursuing a career in medicine, including their experiences and insights into entering the medical profession.
You’ll have the opportunity to ask our guests your questions, hear about their experiences first-hand, and find out more about the medical pathway here at The Abbey.
This event is for girls who are already considering a career in medicine or simply curious to find out more and is a fantastic opportunity to hear directly from those working in the profession. Parents are also very welcome.
Please note that The Abbey Sixth Form Open evening is also on the same evening and all guests are welcome to stay on and find out more.
Parking on site will be extremely limited and the school car park is closed between 15:30- 16:00, so we recommend parking along Kendrick Road or elsewhere.
