Te Tai Tonga CANDIDATE KŌRERO 6.00PM
We are also pleased to host a special Te Tai Tonga Candidate Kōrero beginning at 6.00pm.
This is an opportunity for our community to hear from candidates, listen to their whakaaro (thoughts), and engage in a respectful, community-focused kōrero about the issues that matter to our people and our future.
🎙️ Candidate Kōrero starts at 6.00pm
Come along, enjoy the market, support local, connect with your community, and be part of the kōrero.
He Wakaputanga o ngā Rangatiratanga o Niu Tireni
We will also honour and celebrate He Whakaputanga o ngā Rangatiratanga o Niu Tireni – the Declaration of Independence of the United Tribes of New Zealand 🌿. This is an important part of our history, recognising the rangatira who came together to declare the mana motuhake and independence of Nu Tireni. A declaration signed on the 28th of October 1835, a message to the international world, made from tūpuna Māori, that we are a sovereign nation.
Come along, enjoy the markets, kai, whānau and kōrero, and join us as we acknowledge this significant kaupapa and the enduring mana of our tīpuna. ❤️🖤🤍
