About this Event
We are pleased to launch the inaugural conference for Aquinas KC! Speakers include:
Dominic Legge, O.P., president of Dominican House of Studies
Matthew Barrett, research professor of theology at Trinity Anglican Seminary
What is this conference about?
Despite all the division in society today, there is one thing everyone agrees on: We all want to find happiness. Although everyone wants to flourish, many are unsure where happiness is to be found. Did you know that Thomas Aquinas, one of the greatest minds the church has ever produced, had a lot to say about happiness? He believed we can live what he called the Happy Life. We invite you to Donnelly College this October 17th for a new conference called Aquinas KC. You will hear from Dominic Legge, O.P. and Matthew Barrett who will share with you what human flourishing has to do with your search for God. You also have the opportunity to pick breakout sessions you love and engage in dialogue with others searching for happiness as well.

More about Aquinas KC
Over the centuries Thomas Aquinas has been called a common doctor due in part to the profundity of his writings across many disciplines. Catholics are not alone in this assessment, as Protestants today are recognizing that Aquinas is a reservoir of wisdom.
It is time for a fresh ecumenism, one in which we gather around Aquinas and together face outward, equipped by our common doctor to answer the challenges of our day. We believe that Aquinas’ theological approach to philosophy and theology merits retrieval during times of severe societal division leading to cultural anomie. It is time we rally around Aquinas’s First Principles to respond to a culture suspicious of God and the goodness of his creation.
Aquinas KC deploys this Thomistic style & strategy to unite Protestants and Catholics in a search for common ground for the common good. To that end, Aquinas KC is a school for catechizing one another in the Thomistic way in our secular age.
