This course is open to Swimming and Aqua fitness teachers, Yoga instructors, Midwives and Doulas. It is essential you have a love of water, a desire to support women during pregnancy and to help prepare them for a joyful birth experience. You must be able to swim, to submerge happily and be ready to open your heart to a gentle personal journey of exploration as well as learning all the moves and theory that will set you up to teach.
Course format: In person course and pool time.
Cost: £425
Sally creates flowing easy movements in the water using yoga, rhythm, resistance and music to create beautiful sequences designed to nurture women through their pregnancy and help prepare for a joyful birth experience.
Women are encouraged to connect with their bodies and tap into their own intuition through easeful practices.
You will learn:
Specifically designed moves suitable for pregnant women
Adaptations for the different trimesters of pregnancy
Pregnancy and birth related anatomy and physiology
Breathing techniques for pregnancy and birth
The benefits of the practices and how to integrate a perfect balance
How to develop your own personal style of teaching
Self-awareness and exploration of the water for yourself
Assessment and qualification
To qualify you will need to complete all sessions and activities, which includes a teaching assessment.
You will receive a Joyful Nurture certificate qualifying you to teach these specific practices for pregnancy and birth.
As a qualified tutor in this area, Sally has tutored aqua yoga courses internationally for many years. It has been validated with BGi insurance that the company recognises the qualification and will insure new teachers to teach the practices.
You will receive a really practical aqua yoga manual/workbook which includes photos/videos of moves.
