🎶 Apprentice Ensemble: Playing a Song as a Band

📍 Glendale Branch Public Library
Meeting Room A (front desk → left → short hallway → glass doors)

This is a beginner-friendly ensemble experience for adults who want to learn what it actually feels like to play a song together as a band—without pressure, auditions, or needing to be “good enough.”

Instead of focusing on individual exercises, we’ll work as a group on one simple, beginner-friendly song, learning how different musical roles fit together: rhythm guitar, bass, vocals, and light percussion. I’ll guide the group, help assign parts based on comfort level, and keep the environment relaxed, supportive, and encouraging.

This event works in conjunction with Apprentice Training, but you do not need to attend that class to join. Each month’s song is shared on my website so participants can practice between sessions if they choose.

This is an introductory ensemble night. Some people come just to try playing with others; some discover they want to go deeper into regular rehearsals and performance. Both paths are welcome.

🎸 What to Bring

Acoustic guitar, or electric guitar with a small amp
Other instruments are welcome
Extra instruments (bass, percussion) are provided

No prior band experience required.

🗓 Schedule

This ensemble meets every other Tuesday evening.
Each session stands on its own, though returning helps build confidence and comfort playing with others.

🛤️ Optional Next Steps

For participants who love ensemble playing, I also offer more committed band experiences with weekly rehearsals and performance goals, as well as private lessons for faster progress. This event is a low-pressure way to explore whether that path is right for you. If you’d like extra support or want to ask questions ahead of time, I offer a free 30-minute introductory lesson. This is completely optional and not required to attend.
