We are excited for a Season of Connections back where we began 63 years ago.From the misty ridgelines of Appalachia to the fiery rhythms of Mexico, this concert traces the threads that connect us. Mandolin virtuoso Jeff Midkiff brings soul and sparkle to Jennifer Higdon's Mandolin Concerto, a genre-bending showcase of bluegrass grit and orchestral color. Beethoven's monumental Symphony No. 3, the "Eroica," follows — a heroic, boundary-breaking work that changed the course of music history. And José Pablo Moncayo's Huapango closes the evening in a blaze of Mexican folk energy and orchestral fireworks.
