Anything But The Dyson and Other Excellent Monologues is a one-woman show that combines autobiographical storytelling with character-driven monologues. Curated, written and performed by Katrina Mathers under the direction of Roz Hammond, the production pairs Mathers' own text with short works by six local and international writers. The show offers a funny and highly personal perspective on the physical and psychological realities of aging, bringing topics such as cancer survival and menopausal transitions into a theatrical format. Moving between direct address and unique character vignettes, the show uses a stylised, pink-dominated aesthetic to frame a collection of stories about resilience, domesticity, empowerment, hope and changing identity.
