On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, one of the world’s most horrific wars came to an end. November 11, soon named “Armistice Day,” was celebrated and remembered as such for nearly four decades. In 1954, following World War II and the Korean War, the day expanded to Veterans Day, a day to celebrate all veterans. Remember this day and celebrate our veterans at Soldiers Memorial with a wreath-laying ceremony and a presentation by the French Society.
