The Annual Space Exploration Educators Conference (SEEC) is an exceptional gathering aimed at educators from across the globe, held at Space Center Houston, the official visitor center for NASA Johnson Space Center. This conference invites educators to immerse themselves in the rigorous and wondrous world of space exploration, featuring a variety of immersive sessions led by experts from NASA and other prominent space industry organizations. Over three dynamic days, attendees can expect hands-on experiences inspired by astronaut training, opportunities to network with fellow educators, and a wealth of resources to inspire their classrooms.The conference theme for this year is "Mission Ready: Where Space Exploration Meets Inspiration." Participants will have the chance to hear from a lineup of inspiring keynote speakers, embark on guided tours of iconic exhibits, and engage in interactive sessions that incorporate innovative STEM techniques. Notably, attendees can earn up to 24 hours of Continuing Education Credit. With a focus on inclusivity and accessibility, the conference ensures that all presentations meet guidelines to accommodate diverse audiences. Presenters are encouraged to share innovative, content-driven presentations that are interactive and engaging, with at least half the session dedicated to hands-on activities. Presenters are limited to a maximum of two presentations to ensure a wide variety of sessions for all participants.
In addition to the engaging sessions, the SEEC is excited to announce the Cherri Brinley Outstanding Educator Award, named in honor of a remarkable educator who inspired countless teachers and students. This award recognizes outstanding educators in attendance, with the recipient announced during the virtual banquet. Moreover, the SEEC includes a special teacher leadership component called the Space Exploration Educator Crew program, which brings together 36 K-12 teachers nationwide to develop leadership skills and STEM-based learning experiences. Overall, the SEEC promises to be an enlightening and enriching experience for educators dedicated to fostering a love for space exploration and inspiring the next generation of learners.
