🍎🍂 Apple Nachos & Scarecrow Trail Walk + Ride! 🚲Join us for one of our favorite annual homeschool fall traditions at Prophetstown State Park! This year we’re adding a new twist… apple nachos pitch-in! 🍎🍯✨
We’ll start with an apple nachos picnic at noon near the playground, then grab our bikes, scooters, strollers, and walking shoes to explore the park’s Trail of Scarecrows together!
🍎 12:00 PM - Apple Nachos & Playground Time at Prairie View Picnic Area
Bring something to contribute to our apple nachos picnic! We’ll coordinate apples and toppings in the event discussion. Kids can play while families gather, snack, and visit.
🚲 After Lunch - Scarecrow Trail Walk & Ride
We’ll head out to explore the creative scarecrow displays along the park’s beautiful paved trail.
One of our favorite things about this outing is how accessible it is! The paved trail welcomes walkers, wheelchairs, strollers, scooters, and bicycles, so families can participate in whatever way works best for them.
🎭 Costumes Encouraged!
Kids are welcome to dress up in their favorite costumes! It’s a fun opportunity for a little fall dress-up magic, including for families who don’t celebrate Halloween. Costumes are completely optional.
The Trail of Scarecrows is approximately one mile each way, and families are welcome to explore at their own pace.
Come for the picnic, the ride, or both! We can’t wait to enjoy another beautiful fall day together. 🧡
