About this Event
The Fourth Annual Awards Showcase brings together scientific insight and award-winning student filmmaking for an evening of urgency, imagination, and recognition.
The evening begins with a special presentation by , Professor at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University, whose research examines the changing dynamics of the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets and their implications for future sea-level rise. In his talk, “A Sea Curtain for Thwaites Glacier: Slowing Ice Loss at the Source,” Holland will address one of the most pressing questions in contemporary climate science.
Following the talk, the festival will present its prize-winning films, moving from fourth place to first, and concluding with the festival’s awards presentation, including certificates and prizes for the winners.
Free and open to the public, this event celebrates the power of both science and storytelling to deepen public understanding of climate change and inspire action.
Registration is required for in-person attendance, and seating is limited. A livestream will also be available worldwide.
