About this Event
The LondonHCSTN Spring Event 2026 is a one‑day, in‑person development and networking event for ETPs, Pre‑registration trainees, STPs, and Healthcare Science alumni. The programme brings together trainees and senior leaders to support professional development, wellbeing, and career progression within Healthcare Science.
Deadline to get your ticket is 4 May 🎟️ Please make sure you’ve registered by then so we can finalise numbers for the event.
Please note that ETP and Pre‑registration trainees are welcome to stay for the connections lunch and may remain afterwards if they wish. However, the afternoon sessions are specifically designed for STP trainees.
The day will include expert‑led sessions on emotional wellbeing and reflective practice, guidance on getting the most out of training programmes, and insights into career pathways and opportunities within NHS England and Healthcare Science. Attendees will also take part in interactive Q&A panels, interview preparation activities, and break‑out sessions tailored to different training routes.
The event aims to help attendees build confidence in wellbeing and resilience, strengthen professional and leadership skills, prepare for interviews and post‑programme roles, and connect with the wider London Healthcare Science trainee community.

Info: This session will provide an overview of the work led by Healthcare Science within NHS England Workforce, Training and Education (WT&E). It will highlight how this work supports education, training, and career progression across the HCS workforce, including current initiatives and future opportunities.

ETP & STP Breakout Rooms
Info: STP - This session will explore career pathways and opportunities following completion of the STP. Vanessa will share her personal experiences, insights into transitioning into a substantive Clinical Scientist role, and practical advice on career development after training. ETP will facilitate breakout sessions to provide trainees with the opportunity to engage in focused discussions, share experiences, and explore topics relevant to their stage of training. The sessions are designed to encourage interaction, peer support, and practical problem‑solving.

Info: Please note that the afternoon sessions are specifically designed for STP trainees; however, trainees from other programmes are welcome to stay if they wish. This session will provide practical guidance on preparing for interviews, including how to structure effective answers, demonstrate competencies, and present experience with confidence. Attendees will gain useful tips to support successful interview performance at different stages of their career.

Info: This session will celebrate trainee achievements and successes across the programme. Trainees are warmly encouraged to get in touch in advance if they would like to share a success story. This could include projects or achievements they are proud of, secondment experiences, or specific areas of the programme where they feel they have particularly thrived. Attendees may be asked to prepare a short contribution to share their experience and insights with peers.
