About this Event
We will follow the depths of the Humber Ravine with descriptions of its role in history, most particularly how it relates to the 1954 "Hazel" deluge. There will be photos of "This was where you are" from October 15th, 1954. These will be accompanied by the personal recollections of people from that 1954 event.
We will also examine the more eminent historical sites, some of them First Nations, as we pass them, en route to Dundas Street, finishing at the Historic Lambton House (and maybe some tea).
The salmon may be leaping and the herons and cormorants fishing – the Humber, a Canadian Heritage River, can be a truly magical place.
Details: A 3-hour, 3+ km linear nature and heritage walk along mostly paved surfaces with some steep slopes. Some stairs
Meeting Spot: Old Mill subway station entrance
Accessibility: The stairs into the ravine at Bloor St. can be circumvented by streets. The walk leader will be using a wheelchair.
