About this Event

Winter Wellbeing: Looking After Ourselves and Each Other

Before the Suffolk User Forum's formal AGM, join us for a warm, practical, and welcoming pre-AGM wellbeing session that explores simple ways to stay well through the winter months.

Winter can affect our energy, mood, mobility and social connection. This interactive session will share practical ideas to support physical health, mental wellbeing, and community connection, while giving attendees space to reflect on what helps them stay well.

The session will also include:

  • A gentle, inclusive movement session led by John Ottaway, SUF Peer Support Worker, with chair-based exercises and optional standing movements to help people feel energised, relaxed and ready for the day ahead.
  • Louise Hickey from Feel Good Suffolk, sharing practical advice on staying well through winter, including physical health, mental wellbeing and healthy routines.
  • Thrive with Five, presented by members of our Healthy Together team, offering five simple and practical ways to support wellbeing through connection, activity, mindfulness, learning and kindness. Attendees will also receive a pocket-sized Thrive with Five guide to take away.

This informal session takes place immediately before the formal AGM and is open to members, volunteers, staff, trustees and supporters. It provides an opportunity to connect with others, share ideas, and start the day in a positive, supportive way before AGM business begins.

Please note that photographs will be taken during the event. If you do not wish to appear in any photos, please inform a member of staff.

A free light lunch will be provided to all attendees from 1:00 pm, with the event formally concluding at 2:00 pm.

We understand that discussions about mental health can be emotionally triggering or difficult. The SUF team will be available throughout the event to offer support to anyone who needs it, and attendees are encouraged to take breaks at any time.

To help ensure everyone has access to support after the event, we will also provide a crisis card with key contact details to take home.
