About this Event
Anne Tweed is an Australian fine artist based in the Central Goldfields of Victoria. Tweed's drawing, printing, and painting practice comes from an ever-present urge to see and express the world around her.
Through meticulously detailed landscapes, Tweed examines the lasting impact of colonisation and modern technology on our delicate ecosystems. Each work is developed through a distinctive two-part process, beginning with a carefully rendered native bushscape before introducing geometric overlays that interrupt and transform the natural landscape. These imposing urban shadows create a striking dialogue between the organic and the industrial, revealing the tensions that exist between nature and human intervention.
By bringing these contrasting elements together within a single visual plane, Tweed invites viewers to reflect on the fragility of our environment, the consequences of progress and the often uneasy coexistence of the natural and constructed worlds.
