About this Event
Angus Bayley + GRANDAD
Event Location: SJQ
Angus Bayley's music is the spiritual successor to Troyka, Strobes, and Three Trapped Tigers - a tradition of British bands fusing fearlessly forward looking conceptual jazz with math-y prog rock. Hard hitting catchy riffs, broken time signatures and sudden tempo shifting - this prog/jazz crossover intelligently breaks musical rules all over, earning a place at the frontier of hard-hitting ultra-produced groove music.
Angus Bayley - synths+piano
Will Barry - synth bass
Josh Blackmore - drums
"joyously maximalist, flawlessly executed and overflowing with ideas" - Jazzwise
"the synergy the group has is incredible" - Round Midnight/BBC Radio 3
GRANDAD is inebriated maximalism for an attention deficit age - colliding the realms of glistening arpeggios with barrages of dense experimental noise to make "marvellously haywire electronica".
GRANDAD - Ableton, guitar, keys, drums, synths
