"The Power of the Newspaper: Detroit in the 1960s" Film Screening

From the creators of The Detroit History Podcast comes a documentary about how the Detroit newspapers covered the 1960s. Not only was it a pivotal time for Detroit, but it was the decade of a media revolution in local TV news. Did this decade in media give us a foreshadowing of the current state of news? “The Power of the Newspaper, Detroit in the 1960s,” explores this momentous time in Detroit history, and tries to answer these questions.
This film screening will premiere the movie before it is released on YouTube and will be one of the only times to see it in a proper auditorium. It will be free, and seating will be first come, first served!
