Saving Cham culture means more than preserving traditions – it is about ensuring the survival of a people’s identity. Today, initiatives focus on teaching the Cham language to the younger generation, digitally preserving centuries-old manuscripts, and celebrating cultural festivals. Traditional arts such as pottery and weaving are revived, while cultural symbols are used to foster pride and resilience within the community. These efforts, are vital for the Cham people, who have endured great historical adversity. The exhibition project SAVING CHAM CULTURE is a unique collaboration between Cham artists, scholars and researchers, Cambodian filmmaker Sao Sopheak, US photographer Steve Porte, and the Meta House filmmakers David Brown (Australia) and Nico Mesterharm (Germany). We'll exhibit photography, paintings, traditional silk and a selection of videos.
