Put on your dancing shoes and come with an empty stomach to “One Gainesville, One World” on Sunday, Sept. 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Cafe Voltaire in Gainesville, FL.
Hosted by Mike Klein for Congress, the event will celebrate the United Nations-designated International Day of Peace and center on bringing people together at home and around the world.
Nearly one-third of the Gainesville community has some form of international connection through family, work, study, business, or heritage. At “One Gainesville, One World,” Mike Klein will highlight Gainesville’s status as an international city, discussing topics such as war and peace, veterans and military families, ICE and immigration, international business and trade, and the many cultures and communities that make Gainesville home.
The celebration will spill out onto the street, featuring international food trucks, a dance floor and DJ, community organizations, and voter registration. Cafe Voltaire will also serve its usual coffee, dessert, and alcoholic beverages.
