In early 2025, online discourse reignited a long-standing conversation about the state of the Memphis R&B scene—and, more broadly, the misconception that Memphis music exists in only one lane. The truth is far richer: Memphis is home to a dynamic spectrum of sound, from alternative to traditional genres, each brimming with artistry, identity, and cultural weight.
