Join us as we celebrate the life of John “Big John” Phillip Long (1955 to 2026), Napa’s beloved pinstriper, artist, storyteller, and friend to everyone.John passed away peacefully on October 9 at home in Kalaheo, Hawaii, surrounded by family. For more than 40 years, his stripes and lettering graced hot rods, Harleys, work trucks, and the windshields of countless first cars all over Napa. He was a prolific artist and photographer, an amateur stand-up comedian, a legendary party host (toga nights, anyone?), and the guy who always stopped to ask how you were really doing, and meant it.
We’ll be displaying John’s artwork, so come enjoy his talent one more time. Please bring pictures to share too: photos of John, of your favorite John-decorated vehicle, or of any good times you had together.
Come share a story, a laugh, a hug, and a memory. If John had a hand in your first car, your business logo, or one of his famous parties, we’d love to hear about it
