Official part of the Madeira Whale Festival 2026 programme.
You'll leave the water cleaner than you found it, at least for twenty minutes.
Before the Noise: five tanks of seawater. In each one, something we've put in the ocean that shouldn't be there. Touch the water, and you symbolically clean it, deactivating a layer of pollution sound until all that's left is the ocean as it should sound.
This is a performance you build, together, one hand in the water at a time.
The session closes with a live performance: BSP singing alongside real dolphin and ambient ocean recordings, provided by MARE-ARDITI in collaboration with the University of Madeira.
What to expect:
- A hands-on, participatory installation; you'll be asked to touch the water, not just observe
- Small groups, so book the session that works for you
- A closing live performance blending voice with real underwater recordings from Madeira's own waters

Vais deixar a água mais limpa do que a encontraste, pelo menos durante vinte minutos.
Before the Noise: cinco tanques de água salgada. Em cada um, algo que pusemos no oceano e que não devia lá estar. Tocas a água, e limpas-a simbolicamente, desativando uma camada de som de poluição até restar apenas o oceano como devia soar.
Isto é uma performance que constróis, em conjunto, uma mão na água de cada vez.
A sessão termina com uma performance ao vivo: BSP a cantar ao lado de gravações reais de golfinhos e do ambiente sonoro do oceano, cedidas pelo MARE-ARDITI em colaboração com a Universidade da Madeira.
