About this Event

Georgie Jones is a poet and performer known for her wit and warmth. Praised for her “formidable stage presence and compelling way with words” (Reviews Hub) Georgie’s work captures the exquisite messiness of modern existence and makes the chaos, somehow, feel comforting.

In her latest hour, she shares poems from her debut collection, And The World Spins Anyway. It’s a love letter to real life, however it shows up, an antidote to the highlight reel that is social media, a tribute to the unfinished, the unfiltered, the uncertain.

She can’t promise any answers, but she can make you feel a little less alone in not having them.

“Riveting, relevant, relatable poetry.”
Deborah Frances White

“Georgie Jones has an extraordinary gift.”
Beth O’Leary

“I cannot help but be mesmerised by the talent Georgie possesses.”
Voice Mag

Georgie is beyond thrilled to be supported by Amy Williams.
Amy is a poet and performer who writes motherhood, womanhood and any other threads she pulls at. She has been praised for shining a light on the realities of new motherhood with her hit poem 6 to 8 Weeks achieving viral status, amassing more than 2.5 million views on Instagram.
She can often be found performing bedtime gymnastics to attend spoken word nights around the UK and then is stopped running from said nights to be told, “mum poetry, what a cool niche!” As well as being very cool, Amy is an advocate for spaces that allow
spoken word and the arts to be more readily accessible for those who may not be able to attend what has been accepted to be the norm - including those who may also be awake before sunrise.
Her work has been championed by many of the UK's leading Perinatal Health charities, BBC Women's hour and THE disco diva herself, Sophie Ellis Bextor (swoon).
