ANCIENT SOUND JOURNEY & CACAO

For this final gathering of the year, I'm bringing Ancient Sound Journey & Cacao into a new space: Sur Under, an intimate venue with beautiful acoustics, offering a unique setting to experience sound.

With only 15 places available, this gathering is an invitation to step away from the noise of everyday life and immerse yourself in a world of sound, presence and stillness.

We'll begin with a cup of warm, organic Peruvian ceremonial cacao, allowing ourselves a moment to arrive, settle into the space and turn inward.

From there, the journey unfolds.

Through a collection of ancient traditional instruments from different cultures, acoustic improvisation, live looping and digital soundscapes created on the spot, I'll weave together an evolving composition of organic textures, unexpected harmonies, rhythms and resonances.

Some sounds emerge from a single breath. Others grow into intricate layers, building, dissolving and transforming as the journey unfolds.

Nothing is entirely pre-determined. The music is created live, shaped by listening, intuition and the interplay between instruments, electronics and the acoustics of the space.

From the subtle voice of clay ocarinas and ancestral flutes to the deep resonance of the didgeridoo, each instrument brings its own character into this living soundscape.

This is an experience of deep listening. A space to rest, explore your inner landscape, and reconnect with the simple yet profound act of being present.

There is nothing you need to achieve, understand or become. You are welcome to simply lie down, close your eyes and let the sound unfold.

A special space. A small gathering. An entire world of sound, created in the moment.

I'm genuinely excited to share this new edition with you, and to close the year together in this way.

• Arrival & settling in — A gentle welcome and time to arrive in the space.
• Guided meditation & breath — An invitation to settle the body, soften the breath and become present.
• Cacao ritual — A moment of connection with warm, organic Peruvian ceremonial cacao.
• Immersive live sound journey — An evolving musical experience blending ancient traditional instruments, acoustic improvisation, live looping and spontaneously created digital soundscapes.
• Silence & integration — Time to rest, return gently and take in the experience.

Please arrive by 5:50pm so we can begin together at 6pm. To honour the sacredness and silence of the space, late entry will not be permitted after the start time.

To help you settle in fully, yoga mats, cushions, blankets and eye masks will all be provided, so you can simply arrive, get comfortable and immerse yourself in the experience.

WHAT TO BRING:

• Optional: Bring a notebook and pen to journal any reflections or insights after the journey.

The session may extend slightly, so allow for up to 10 minutes of overtime.
