Ancient & Ephemeral – Solo Exhibition by Sarah Eve
A new solo exhibition by Western Australian artist Sarah Eve, Ancient & Ephemeral, will open at Victoria Park Centre for the Arts this May, inviting audiences to reflect on the enduring power of the Australian landscape and our fleeting place within it.
Drawing inspiration from ancient rock formations that have silently witnessed the evolution of land, life and humanity, Sarah Eve’s work explores the tension between permanence and impermanence. Working in the style of Abstract Realism, she reinterprets these landscapes through colour, gesture and memory, creating expressive paintings that evoke awe, connection and contemplation.
Through this body of work, the artist encourages viewers to consider their personal relationship with place, as well as a shared responsibility toward environmental respect and preservation. Each painting captures the energy and movement of Australia’s terrain, transforming lived experience into vibrant, immersive works.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of public programs, offering opportunities for audiences to engage more deeply with the artist and her practice.
