ANCHOR Fest (Formerly The Charlottetown Film Festival) is five days of film screenings, concerts, comedy shows, and conference activities spread across downtown Charlottetown October 14 to 18. ANCHOR’s mission is to showcase exciting Canadian talent and foster PEI’s growing creative industries.Captains Of Everything and Nick Doneff will kick off our music programming at Trailside on October 15. Doors open at 6:30pm with music at 8pm.
Captains Of Everything
A city skyline, an infinite day, the aftermath of a hurricane — these are the spaces that the Captains Of Everything inhabit, navigating the choppy waters of contemporary life with grace & gratitude. On their debut album, Avast & Belay, co-songwriters Andy Maize and Aaron Comeau (Skydiggers) take their role as artists seriously while retaining a necessary levity, donning various masks throughout yet leaving a treasure map behind.
Nick Doneff
Tom Power, host of CBC’s “Q”, describes Nick Doneff as a cross between Joel Plaskett and John Prine, citing him as an artist that “you need to hear.” Doneff is a current member of the indie rock band Two Hours Traffic and also works steadily as a multi-instrumentalist in Canada’s smallest province, Prince Edward Island.
