About this Event
Create Perspective-Bending Projection Art with Eddie Farr
Free Intensive Artist-Focused Workshop
Workshop Schedule
- Saturday, March 28, 1:00 PM – 5 PM
Join Atlanta-based artist Eddie Farr, a former Public Art Futures Lab Artist in Residence known for creating responsive, technology-integrated public art, for a hands-on workshop exploring anamorphic projection using Blender.
Registrants must be 18+ and be able to bring their own laptop!
Anamorphic projection is a creative technique that transforms highly distorted imagery into a convincing three-dimensional illusion when viewed from a specific vantage point. The approach is widely used in 3D billboard illusions, film production, projection mapping, and contemporary public art installations.
In this beginner-friendly intensive workshop, participants will learn how to use Blender, a free and open-source 3D software platform, to create their own anamorphic projections. Through guided exercises and pre-built scenes, attendees will explore how artists use virtual cameras, perspective manipulation, and animation to design illusions that appear three-dimensional on flat surfaces.
No prior experience with 3D modeling or Blender is required.
Location
Atlanta, GA 30303
