About this Event
Anacostia Walking Meditation
Join us for a gentle, guided walking meditation connecting community, mindfulness, and the natural beauty of the Anacostia River.
We will gather near Atlas Brew Works (Bridge District) on the playground and begin with a short introduction to walking meditation. From there, we’ll take a slow, mindful walk down to the river, pause for reflection and brief environmental awareness, and return with a second guided focus.
This time is designed to help participants slow down, reconnect with themselves, and deepen their awareness of the river and surrounding ecosystem. This experience is enhanced by Anacostia Riverkeeper, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting and restoring the Anacostia River. They are providing educational resources to help deepen participants’ understanding of the river and the life it sustains.
No prior meditation experience is needed. This event is open to all and is not religious in nature.
After the walk, participants are invited (but not required) to stay for informal conversation and lunch at Atlas Brew Works.
