About this Event
A practical update on contemporary periodontology, covering key developments in diagnosis, risk assessment, treatment planning and management of periodontal disease. The day will focus on evidence-based approaches relevant to everyday clinical practice, including advanced periodontal disease, furcation involvement, periodontal–restorative considerations and some implant-related conditions.
Aims:
* To update clinicians on current evidence and developments in periodontology.
* To improve confidence in periodontal diagnosis, risk assessment and treatment planning.
* To provide practical guidance on managing periodontal disease and recognising cases requiring specialist referral.
* To apply evidence-based principles to the management of more complex periodontal cases.

* Recognise the key clinical features used to diagnose and classify periodontal disease.
* Assess periodontal risk and develop an appropriate, patient-centred treatment plan.
* Apply current evidence-based principles to the non-surgical management of periodontal disease.
* Identify complex cases and appropriate indications for specialist periodontal referral.
* Discuss management options for advanced periodontal disease, furcation involvement and periodontal–restorative/implant-related conditions.
