There and back again... with a little Halloween mischief along the way!
This Halloween, the doors of Event Horizon Hobbies are opening onto an unexpected adventure. Join us for an all-ages, Middle-earth-inspired Halloween party filled with trick-or-treating, games, creative activities, seasonal treats, costumes and plenty of reasons to explore.
Your adventure begins at Bag End, where each Quest participant will receive their own Quest Map before setting out to explore nine destinations across Middle-earth. There is no set path to follow: wander at your own pace, visit the destinations in any order, and collect a mark on your map as you complete each stop.
Along the way, your Quest will take you from the Shire to Mirkwood, across the Brandywine, beneath the Lonely Mountain and even to the fires of Mount Doom!
Your Quest Admission Includes
Nine Middle-earth Quest destinations, including six interactive activities and three trick-or-treat stops:
The Lonely Mountain – Pin the Tail on Smaug
Face the dragon in our Middle-earth twist on a classic party game.
The Brandywine – Catch Your Apple
Catch your own fresh apple from the Brandywine before carrying it onward to the Shire. Individual water basins keep the traditional apple-bobbing fun without sharing water.
The Shire – Decorate Your Caramel Apple
Turn the apple you caught at the Brandywine into a Halloween treat with caramel and toppings.
Mirkwood – Create Your Own Creature
Make a strange, wonderful or downright ridiculous creature to take home from the depths of Mirkwood.
Riddles in the Dark – Face the Riddle Keeper
Put your wits to the test in a short riddle challenge. Hints are always available… this is an adventure, not an exam!
Mount Doom – The One Ring Toss
See whether you can cast the rings toward the fires of Mount Doom.
You'll also trick-or-treat your way through three additional destinations:
The Mines of Moria – Dwarven Treasure
Seek out a little chocolate treasure beneath the mountain.
The Dead Marshes – Marshes & Monsters
Brave the marshes for a selection of creepy, gummy Halloween treats.
Lothlórien – Elven Sweets
Discover something a little brighter and sweeter among the Elves.
And the adventure doesn't end there. Quest Admission also includes complimentary seasonal drinks and snacks throughout the evening, including pumpkin pie hot chocolate and apple cider.
Complete all nine destinations and return your finished Quest Map to Bag End to receive your Quest-completion goodie bag for the journey home.
The Halloween Costume Catwalk
Come dressed for the occasion!
At 8:00 PM, our Quest will make room for the Halloween Costume Catwalk, MC'd by Ella Vu Tonic. Adventurers of all ages are invited to show off their Halloween costumes, with judging and awards to follow at approximately 8:30 PM.
The Quest stations will remain available during the costume festivities, so those who would rather continue adventuring are welcome to do so.
After the awards, enjoy one last stretch of Halloween fun before our adventure concludes at 9:00 PM.
Bringing the Family?
We want families to be able to enjoy the evening together without requiring every accompanying adult to purchase a full Quest experience.
Accompanying adults are FREE* with a paid Child Quest Admission.
Free accompanying adults are welcome to explore alongside their children, enjoy the Halloween atmosphere and watch the Costume Catwalk. A free accompanying-adult admission does not include a Quest Map or the individual Quest inclusions reserved for paid participants, such as trick-or-treat treats, a caramel apple, craft materials, complimentary participant refreshments or a Quest-completion goodie bag.
Adults who would like to complete the Quest themselves—and receive all of its included treats, activities and rewards—should purchase a General Quest Admission.
*Up to two free accompanying adults per household/transaction with at least one paid Child Quest Admission. Accompanying adults must be registered so that we can safely manage event capacity.
