About this Event
Country Bookshelf is excited to present an evening with Yellowstone National Park’s bison manager Chris Geremia and celebrated wildlife photographer Tom Murphy on Thursday, November 5 at 6pm. In their beautiful new book,Yellowstone Bison: Return of the Last Wild Herd, Chris and Tom trace the remarkable recovery of bison in Yellowstone National Park.
The American bison, our national mammal, once roamed much of North America in numbers so vast the herds were measured in miles, not numbers. By the turn of the 20th century, they were nearly extinct.Through compelling images, rich history, and lived experience, Yellowstone Bison reveals the majesty, endurance, and complexity that bison display, plus the evolution in human thinking needed to let wild bison be wild.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Yellowstone Bison: Return of the Last Wild Herd will directly support Yellowstone National Park’s Bison Conservation Transfer Program.

About the Authors
Chris Geremia is Yellowstone National Park's bison manager. His team works to conserve and protect this herd for future generations. Chris began studying Yellowstone's bison in 2002, skiing along their migrations to learn how they moved through the land and seasons.
Tom Murphy is a renowned wildlife photographer who has documented Yellowstone's wilderness since first skiing across the park in 1985. His images reveal the emotion, strength, and quiet beauty of bison living in the wild by their own rules.
