About The Book
With advanced cybernetics showing up in the possession of low-level criminals, Luke Cage is hired to investigate a factory manufacturing medical devices in rural Virginia. Leaving Jessica Jones during a delicate moment in their relationship, he makes plans to travel south but is devastated to learn that a cousin who scoped out the plant for him has been found dead. The police report states it was an accident. But Luke has long known that official words are just that: words.

About The Moderator
City of Miami District 5 Commissioner Christine King has dedicated her career to public service and community advocacy. Born in Guyana and raised in Miami from the age of five, she has served in local government, led the Martin Luther King Economic Development Corporation as President and CEO, and practiced law after earning her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University.
Commissioner King made history as the first Guyanese American elected to office in the City of Miami and the first woman appointed Chair of the City Commission. She served as Chair from November 2021 to July 2026, becoming the longest-serving Chair in the Commission’s history. Her work is focused on advancing a District 5 known for its culture, vibrancy and diversity while creating lasting opportunities for its residents.
