About this Event
Karl Ove Knausgaard is a titan of translated fiction. In his award-winning My Struggle he captured, with painful honesty, how the highs and lows of grief, envy, and love have shaped his childhood, his relationships, and the minutia of everyday life. The first book in the cycle, A Death in the Family, was named one of The Guardian’s 100 Best Books of the 21st Century. It continues to be heralded as a masterpiece of contemporary literature.
This November, Knausgaard comes to the Intelligence Squared stage to discuss his new novel Arendal, the next installment in the otherworldly Morning Star universe. Forced to spend the night in his bitterly cold hometown when his car breaks down, Syvert Løyning is caught up in longing and loneliness. As he walks the streets at night, something shifts both within him and around him. A point of no return approaches.
