Join us at Purple Pie Gallery for an exclusive evening with Cardiff-based contemporary artist James Sherwood, as he unveils his largest and most ambitious body of work to date — The Skyline Series.
Created on an enormous scale, James transforms familiar streets, landmarks and skylines into vibrant, textured cityscapes, capturing the movement, colour and character of each city.
At the centre of the evening will be his latest and largest work — a monumental, two-metre-wide painting of Bristol.
Alongside Bristol, you'll have the rare opportunity to see the original paintings Caerdydd, Casnewydd and Angeltogether, plus a limited-edition print of the sold-out original, Abertawe.
One artist. Five cities. One night.
What to expect

🎨 Meet the artist
James will give a short talk about the creation of The Skyline Series, from choosing the cities and compositions to creating paintings on such an enormous scale.
There'll also be an opportunity to ask questions, meet James and have a chat over a drink.

The bar will be open throughout the evening, serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
A selection of James's limited and unlimited-edition prints will also be available to purchase.
