$20 Tickets Fletcher’s Grove has spent nearly two decades building its own strain of Appalachian jam rock: rooted in songs, driven by rhythm and built to open up onstage.
The West Virginia five-piece moves naturally between rock ‘n’ roll, country, funk, folk and psychedelia without sounding stitched together from genres. Twin guitars ride over bass, drums and percussion, giving the band room to move from tightly written songs into deep grooves, extended improvisation and the kind of turns that only happen after years of playing together.
Ryan Krofcheck, Wes Hager, Matt Marion, John Inghram and Tommy Bailey each bring a distinct musical voice to Fletcher’s Grove. With multiple songwriters and a wide range of influences within the band, the music can take shape from several different directions. One song may lean into Appalachian storytelling and acoustic textures; the next can stretch into something louder, stranger and considerably farther from shore.
